Hi - I just found out, while trying to track down an old friend, that she died in 1992. I'm trying to find out how she died, and possibly how to get in contact with her mother, but despite what the website promised, I can't get to any of that information. Any suggestions on what to do next? I know the birth and death dates, her mother's name, the county where her death is registered, and the county/cemetery where she's buried. Can someone help? Thanks!

chimerahouse welcome to Detective Forums! Thank you for following forum rules and not posting personal identifiers. I don’t know what web site promised you information. Detective forum is a community of people sharing public record resources and suggesting investigational tips.

Cause of death is as a rule listed on a certified death certificate but restricted in a number of jurisdictions.
If you’re looking for events leading up to and surrounding her death, contacting her family may be your best bet.
If you feel circumstances may have been a media event check newspaper archives by using the search tool for a local paper and check their site. You may find it helpful to use the search tool and read post by other members as public records links and investigative tips are scattered throughout the forums.

The below sites should help get you started.

Good luck

Other than getting in contact with your friend's mother or other family member, the only way you might be able to find out the cause to your friends's death, the only way to get that sort of information is going to be that you are going to have to pay to get a copy of her death certificate from the Vital Statistics' office (and you can find the contact number information to get exacting details is in the front Governmental section of your local phone book, if you're interested).

As far as finding your friend's mom's contact information, Watchman <as always> gave you some great sites to check out (my personal choice is PeopleData.com...it is a Totally FREE and complete Public Records <but it is only a link for finding US Citizens>
