Zodiac Killer et al - split from SFK

On November 9, 1969, a serial killer sent the Chronicle a seven page diatribe. In part it reads:

This is the Zodiac speaking
Up to the end of Oct I have
killed 7 people. I have grown
rather angry with the police
for their telling lies about me.
So I shall change the way the

collecting of slaves. I shall
no longer announce to anyone,
when I comitt my murders,
they shall look like routine
robberies, killings of anger, &
a few fake accidents, etc.
The police shall never catch me,
because I have been too clever
for them.

It is my opinion that this is exactly what he does,
He no longer uses the name Zodiac,but I believe he is still out there.
Some believe he died, was incarcerated, or committed suicide.
I think he did exactly what he said he was going to do.

Hi'
I've always been interested the the Zodiac killer case, as well as all unsolved serial cases that resemble it. I'm not sure if I have time to monitor a thread or not, but I'd be interesed in information that could be learned from one if you like to post it.

I've already sent most of the information I know or suspect about the Zodiac killer, as well as what I believe the crytograms really say, to retired special agent EDIT and also sent a tip to the F.B.I. on their site.

I had forgotten to include my suspicions about the
Smilie face killer also being connected to Zodiac.

It was because of the disappearance and drowning death of a 5 year old, special needs boy, who couldn't talk or scream, back on April 24, 2008, not long after the story of the Smiley face killer was in the news that it accured to me that Zodiac and Smilie Face may be one and the same.

Hi Sherry. I'm a EDITfollower myself. I have read three of his books as well as others, and like yourself I am also a security person. I have heard the SFK/Zodiac connection theory. As I understand it, the killers method and victimology can change, but not the killers ritual. The set of specific actions performed by the killer for there symbolic meaning. These ritual actions, could take place before, during and after victimization. I think these people have a detailed deviant fantasy that builds after the cooling period and leads to the ritual phase. I think there is an overlap of fantasy/ritual before a victim is taken. Zodiac seemed to lean more to violence as opposed to SFK. Then there is the alleged torture issues of SFK. All very confusing, I would like to here what you think, I am very open to other opinions and beliefs.

My belief comes more from knowledge of a particular individual and what I know him to be capable of, through personal experience. He has spent a great deal of studing serial killers and the mistakes they made that got them caught. For that reason he is not going to commit every crime exactly the same way. He does/did in fact think he is clever. I heard last year he had a stroke and wrecked his truck, and is in really bad shape.

Knowing someone is guilty of killing and proving it though is another matter altogether.

I'm back. It's a long story,but I'll try to keep it short. I'll start by saying I also believe the Green River killer case, the Zodiac, the Boston Strangler, the Son-of-Sam, B.T.K., and the Jon-Benet Ramsey cases are all committed by the same person or a group of persons to whom Zodiac is their leader.

In those cases where someone has confessed or been caught, either the DNA or the profile doesn't match.

There's this man I know.

I must have been borned with a hearing problem, but after I almost died when I was six, I was almost deaf. Because I was so young, I had limited vocabulary and a major speech problem, and only those closest to me could somewhat understand when I spoke. If I can scream, I can't recall a single time I ever have, and there have been many situations that I've wanted to, but would either lose my voice or faint. .

I think the best thing to do, is to take your story to the police, as opposed to detailing it all hear publicly.

Welcome back LM, are you in a position to publicly update your investigation?

I hope to learn more about Zodiac from Sherry. If and when arrested / adjudicated I trust Hotel California of Marin County will accommodate him with the Green room.

I can give you my opinion of the type of person Zodiac is from what I believe he says or reveals about himself from the letters he sent and from the cryptograms:

He is a promient person
Someone people respect
In the public spotlight
He likes to write and draw
He's munipulative likes to play mind games
controlling, domineering, others obey him
organized, remains calm under pressure ambitious
likes to taunt his victims and the police
wears a disguise: he has 2 personalities
by appearance he is successsful, but inwardly he feels rejected or inadequate
was likely a school misfit. he does not like children,
especially girls..he hates women.
opposed the Vietnam war: may or may not have military experience
He most likely has a photographic memory
has university connections
communities in coded messages: complexities
knows math: uses symbols and formulas
knows medicine: law: has an interest in theatre
knows how to develop film
has contacted with the police and reporters
likes/demands publicity but is elusive
He was a student and/or a teacher
Keeps records, charts, summary and/or progress reports EX: SF 0 - Z 37
Uses/likes maps: he moves around alot: He mentions several different states, and different moves within a state.

He claims to have committed many more murders using many different methods than police have attributed to him, but that he would no longer notify them when he committed his crimes.

he has fetishes
he knows how to control others
has committed other murders
suffers from a mental disorder
has knowledge of other serial killers: he studies their works
he admits he is demonic possessed
he accepts his choice
he likes to write: wrote poems also
knows how to develop film
has an interest in theatre
likes and demands publicity
munipulative
organized
has a photographic memory
wears a disguise

Yea, I know, EDITconfessed to the crime, after he disappeared without a trace for an extended time.

I have a question?

Does anyone know of any serial killings that occured in the State of Montana prior to the time that the Zodiac killer appeared in California?

Assuming that EDITis a Zodiac victim, that would be before October 30, 1966.

I'm not interested in a particular location, even though Zodiac mentioned one. I'm trying to find information on any murders in that state that may resemble (whether exact or not) the murders he committed.

Zodiac told one of his victims that he was wanted in Montana.
