I have to research about the last 15 years and list out all the dates on my tickets and such. I got my official Texas driving record from DPS and there's not a single ticket listed on there. I KNOW I've gotten at least 8 tickets but none are showing. Any other ways to go about it? |

Hi justletmein. It seems Texas has three basic driving records available as follows, Status Record , Type 1 name, DOB, license status, and latest address.
3-year History Record, Type 2 name, DOB, license status, list of accidents and violations in record within "past 3-year period".
List of All Accidents and Violations in Record, Type 3 name, DOB, license status, list of "all accidents and violations in record".
There are also type 2A and 3A which are certified.
You need to contact DPS and find out which one you received, if it is not stated on the document you have.
Useful sites.

Thx. Yeah I got the type 3, supposed to be everything on record. The only thing it showed was an accident I had in 2003 though. |

You will need to get back to DPS and find out why it is incomplete. Also ask what is different in a type 3 search and report, and a type 3A certified search and report. Make all of your inquiries to DPS in writing and send them copies of what you received, so that you will have a clear record of communications. If the tickets are more than 15 years old they will not be in the report.
Quote from DPS website.
"All moving and non-moving violations appear on a Type 3 driver record for a period of 15 years with the exception of serious offenses. Example: DWI and No Liability Insurance remain on the record indefinitely. 37 Texas Administrative Code 15.101." |
