Been helping a friend gather info for his upcoming court case by doing legwork and finding info for his lawyer.

Working on a divorce case by gathering info on husband.

Also been helping in searching for high school classmates for our upcoming 25th class reunion.

Also going on a 21-day straight work schedule with no days off.

Keep in mind as the years pass by, locating classmates for a reunion gets easier as there will be less to find and the SS index becomes more useful than zabasearch. My reunion seems like a tontine where the last survivor will get to turn the lights off.

I'm still trying to get a mental image of Lawman in his red VW convertible. Very Happy

The hardest part of the search was the cross-referencing because so many of them had moved since our 20th class reunion.

Sadly, we had lost 12 classmates in the last 5 years, all due to vehicle accidents.

If you ever get the image of LM in a red VW converrtible, let us know. I can't even picture it myself!
The only image I get is of him driving a wrecked Crown Victoria with a backseat full of criminals in handcuffs Laughing

Hey Ratman how large was your class?

Due to attrition which included two wars, San Quentin (et al) and the normal cycle of life my class has dwindled considerably. Our next reunion can probably be held in a booth at Denny’s ordering an entrée from their senior menu. Very Happy

I’d ask Lawman about the size of his class but I’m apprehensive of his answer. If you read his post he frequently mentions of having college level vocabulary and reading skills in the 4th grade and being thrown out of Catholic Elementary School.
Nowhere does he mention any schooling beyond the 4th grade. I think he need to rejoin this thread and enlighten us. Wink

BASED ON THE FACT THAT I UTILIZED TRAINING THAT I RECEIVED AS A "PATROLMAN" ONE OF THE FIRST ACADEMY CLASSES IN THE U.S. "TRAINED TO THAT WHAT WAS /AND IS NATIONAL "P.O.S.T." "DOMESTIC VIOLENCE" CALLED THE THURMAN ACT NAMED AFTER "TRACY THURMAN" A. C.T. WOMAN WHOSE FACE WAS/IS PERMANENTLY DISFIGURED & SCARRED AFTER BEING HACKED UP BY HER HUSBAND (WHO ENCOUNTERED YEARS LATER THE DAY HE WAS RELEASED FROM PRISON AS HE RECEIVED THREATS FROM PISSED OFF "WIFE BEATERS?/"Seriously Law Enforcement Officers are the ones most victimized by False allegations & abuse of that law But still up hold & defend it!!! as I did! AND WILL QUALIFY IN A "SIGNIFICANT CASE FOR MY CAREER!"

With respect to the young man who's parent's wrote where the case was deemed a suicide . . . excellent point about grief often including denial where suicide is concerned, and truthfully, that was my first thought with this case (accident or suicide that his friends and family were having a difficult time accepting) . . . but the more I found out about this, and with knowing the young man as a student in several of my classes and as his advisor, I no longer believe that to be the case. The forensics really don't add up to suicide or an accident, and though I wouldn't claim to know the victim incredibly well, we talked a lot, and he was in a really solid space when this happened, with lots of plans and other factors in place that don't fit well at all with suicide. More compelling to me as someone who has seen a lot of homicide cases is the angle of the shot. This wasn't clear in the earlier post, but it would be freakish that this was suicide or an accident (he was very experienced and careful with guns, incidentally) given the angle and distance to the head wound. Something akin to him holding the gun below is waist in his non-dominant hand, which would then have to have been pointing up and over at an angle that is almost inconceivably awkward, if not physically impossible. Yes, I know freakish stuff happens, and I've seen a lot of it . . . but I don't think that's what was shaking in this case. If this young man were going to kill himself, it wouldn't have been in this manner. I understand his parent's suspicion, and share it (though I do think another possibility is that the other boy in the room accidentally shot him as they looked at the gun, and was too fearful to say so). He was a really smart, really good kid with lots of close friends. If anyone can provide any help to this family, I would encourage you to do so. It is a NC case, in response to someone's question, and I can't recall the details on the firearm aside from it being equipped with a well-designed safety.
