Smiley Face Killers Theory

I find your theory interesting and in my opinion a cut above many that I have read on the internet. Now that Google has pick up your Smiley Face Killers thread, your theory can be read worldwide and like it or not you are now a profiler. Wink

To your knowledge have they been any recent cases attributed to SFK?

You are going to love this! During my meanderings on the net I came across a limited series of comic books called"Watchmen". (It's too lengthy to explain here - go to wikipedia.org/wiki/watchmen to read it). Basically it's set in an alternative world mirroring the 1980's. In the comic there were costumed crime fighters called superheroes (sh for short) working for the government or retired (vigilantes were outlawed). When one of the government sh's was murdered, the other sh's came out of retirement. There was a threat of nuclear war between US and Soviet Union and they confronted a plot to stave off nuclear war by killing millions of people. A reoccurring image found at murder sites were BLOODY SMILEY FACES!!!
The author also used a 9 panel grid as the template for his comic books. I wonder if there is any grid aspect to the places where the bodies were found. If you read more about
the characters you will find each had some interesting personality traits which could play into the Smiley Face Murders. I know this sounds crazy but I wonder if this has anything to do with current murders - who knows??

WM, the most recent missing student presumed to be a SFK victim was recovered yesterday 5-1-09, a link to the story below. I think this was likely an accident having read the background, but will wait for more details to emerge.

I have seen different maps with dots connected claiming you can see a smiley face, another one claims you see a mermaid, along with a mermaid ritual death theory. I have not seen a map with all the presumed locations connected. That one would probably look like a spider web and generate another theory. I see the dots on the maps as like the Rorschach (not a watchman comic book reference) test and we would all see something different. Pattern recognition has been one of our most important survival tools as a species since our beginning in time. I am going to remain focused on the WI MN events as I think they are going to be the key in resolving this. I book marked the link to the tool, gary posted, I think that is an excellent resource.

4my, interesting theory and hopefully someday the SFK enigma will be solved. We need to ask our in-house comic book authority his viewpoint and if the bloody comic smiley’s have anything thing in common with those theoretically left by SFK (other than being a smiley face). Hey Lawman how about it?

I found them on SFK sites posted by JL. Assuming these photos factually depict smiley faces associated with the drownings, do they influence your opinion towards Urban Legend/hoax vs. serial killer?

This is a link to a flikr post claiming to be photos of an alleged Cheery Hill NJ SFK incident. I don't believe it's related to WI MN incidents, but they do show the type of graffiti reported and it is common graffiti. Good quality photos.

My question would be; why a smiley face?

Smiley is so common of an icon that many people just ignore it.

If a serial killer, or killers, is going to leave a calling card of where he/she/they left the body, why not something original that'll stand out and be noticed?

I was sitting here studying JL's theory and the use of a smiley face icon at each location.

I theorize that the killer is using a smiley face icon because it's a focal point.
If the killer was a victim at some point in his past, the smiley face icon is the thing that connects the killer to his past abuse and his current actions.
By using the smiley face icon at each location is a reminder for the killer and a possible "message" to his abuser(s).

I printed out JL's theory and I'm looking it over because I might be able to add to it.
