Is Looking up DL information in Texas illegal?

I recently signed up for unlimited people search for a year. I have an option to enter someone's name and it gives u DL information...DOB, address. Is this illegal? I don't want to get in trouble.

In some states. I hope you don't think you the site that made these claims was this one. You probably signed up with what Lawman would call (and correctly so) a shyster site. And I am sure he will chime in on this later. In the mean time read the forum rules and do a search of other members posts for more information.

Okay so are you recommending that I cancel the membership that I bought to avoid problems? Again, I don't want to get in trouble. Just trying to do some family research.

Well I don't know what you paid for. If you do a search on the topic here you will see many people buy those detective in a box software downloads and site access products. They never really deliver what they promise and many times have a link on their site directing folks here. Any information those products can provide you with, you can typically get for free. They are public records.

I don't think what you paid for (on the bust your wallet site) is illegal but it is more than likely not going to be accurate. I would recommend with calling the site CSR or email them with any issues you are having. They will be able to explain there services in more depth than we can here.
Second, check the threads out here and see if you can find out how to get the information you need for FREE. If not, you may want to spend a few dollars on a real PI for the information you seek. Unless of course you have a friend in Law Enforcement Smile
